What parts on a roll-o-matic tend to wear out after 52 years of use? Which parts should I replace so I dont leak grease on the new paint job? Thanks Much!

52BMAN,

Quote: "What parts on a roll-o-matic tend to wear out after 52 years of use?"...>>> Answ, any or all of them..

Quote: "Which parts should I replace so I don't leak grease on the new paint job?"...>>> Answ, that depends on where the leak is at. Are you referring to the actual Roll-O-Matic, or the steering spindle & bolster? If the lower R-O-M itself, then replace the felts & bushings if worn.. If you are actually referring to the spindle then there isn't much of a seal on the bottom but there is a packing under the sector gear up top that keeps the gear oil in the upper steering gear box.. Most people just use corn head grease or even chassis grease in the steering box as that doesn't leak out as easily as gear oil & keeps the mess to minimum...
