Our early styled B hydraulic lift was modified to operate a Horndraulic loader sometime in the 1940's (Last time used in the 1950's). We are the origional owner. I read on this site that this was a possibility. Does anyone know more about this modification? I want to use it someday to operate a hydraulic single acting cylinder, how would I do this? Can the rockshaft be used still? Thanks!!

The John Deere powerlift on your tractor can be replaced---it is a simple bolt on---with the John Deere Hydraulic Powrtrol found on late styled A,B,G and 50,60,70 tractors. All you need is the "box" with the plug fittings, NOT the entire rear end of the tractor. It will then operate either the rockshaft OR the cylinder (but not together). The bolt hole pattern is the same.
