Where is the serial # on an early styled B, pre 1947? We are going to start ours again, it hasn't run in 10 years, been stored in a good shed, running good when put away. I tried to find the serial # today and it is a little dark in the shed and had some junk piled around it, the only # I found was B1840R. What should we do prior to starting it? My cousin filled the fuel tanks with # 2 oil 10 years ago. Thanks.

The tag with the serial number is on a plate that is revieted to the casing under the magneto on the clutch pully side of the tractor. After 10 years it would be good to start by seeing if the engine is free and not stuck. If its free, place new fluids in crank case and fuel tank. Flush out the fuel lines after disconecting them from carb. Check to see that gas flows out the drain cock in the bottom of the carb. New plugs would be good and check to see if there is spark. Check the radiator level. You may now be ready to give it a spin if these basics check out. Lets us know, we all like to here about Old green tractors being resurected. Good luck
