During the Restoration of My John Deere LA I took the gas tank to the local radiator shop to be vatted and cleaned, then to have a sealer applied to the inside of the tank. The sealer has disappeared leaving the inside of the tank bare metal. I know that the radiator shop actually put the sealer in because I could see it in all sides of the inside of the tank. Has anyone else out there had a similar experience. The liner was inside the tank curing with the cap off for approximately 6 months before the tank had gas in it.

AWB, are you sure the sealer is gone? Some of those tank sealers turn clear when cured, maybe it just can't be seen. If it came loose you would more than likely have carb problems or at least see the tank sealer in the strainer assembly..

I would think you'd be experiencing a plugged fuel line sooner or later if the sealer is actually coming off of the sides of the tank. And if it is dissolving then I'd see about getting my money back.

Regarding the disappearing tank liner...The tractor had been smoking but doesn't seem to be smoking anymore.
