The tractor is completely re-wired, everything works including the headlights with original lenses, and its on its way to the International Plowing Match {JD display area} this weekend.
The wiring diagram that you provided prompted us to look more closely at the "Light Switch" to understand what the mounted resistor did and why the switch has three positions.
Incidently, since the ground circuit for the generator field runs thru the switch body, we ran a ground wire from a lug directly against the switch mounting face to a common ground point on the tractor frame. Anyway - thanks for taking the time to send the schematic - it really helped!

Regards,
Jon

Jon, glad you're up & running.
~Adding that switch body ground wire is a real good idea on those older tractors as the dash screws rust & the panels rust up so the ground can be rather poor..
