The clutch on my 720 is very difficult to disengage. If I back the adjustment nuts off one notch the engage/disengage is "soft", but the clutch will slip under heavy load.
Could this be caused by improper pulley brake adjustment? Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

We recently adjusted the clutch on our 1952 "
A" and for the first time it acts like it is supposed to. What we were doing wrong was trying to adjust with the clutch disengaged. Once I read up on "how to", I snapped the clutch in and then I used a small inch-pounds torque wrench to get the bolts perfectly even at about 30 inch-pounds on each bolt. It made a HUGE difference in the way the clutch holds, AND when I snap it out, the tractor stops much better.
