I had big plans to finish up on installing a new radiator core on my styled A this weekend but we got 5.5 inches of rain and my tractor just sits in a pole barn. We have been in a major drought here in central Kansas for months so I'm not complaining. Every inch of it soaked in too. The sun is supposed to come out later this morning so I reckon I can get to it today.

Have a great Labor Day.

We have had all the rain we've needed, all summer. Late August got a LITTLE dry, but not too bad. The longest we went with out a big rain was 14 days. That was broken by what is 5 straight days with sometimes heavy rains. Soybeans are still blooming. Bush hogged in the rain yesterday. (Saw the biggest copperhead I've ever seen)

Here in central Pa. it has been a very wet year. Can't even grow hot pepers it's been so wet. I'm trying not to complain because it is usually way to dry here in August and into September. Besides I keep hearing how bad others have it this year. I wish I could send some your way because for once we have extra.

I saw a mama catfish with her little ones upon the bank trying to teach them how to walk. Haven't had a drop of rain since second week in July. I need six inches and then drizzle until all that dries up!

Jon, we have had about 8 1/2 inches, and still a little drizzle. That will make the annual rain fall totals look great. Someday we can figure out how to scatter this over the past two months. Any way, the ponds are full, grass is growing, and it looks misty like Seattle out my window. Have a great day!

Hi Jon. Sounds like you got a good rain. Here in N.E. Kansas I checked this morning, and we managed to muster together 1 1/4 inchs through the last few days. Thankful for what we get, but could use lots more! Spending the day here putting shelves in a grainery to store tractor parts. Been wanting to do this most of the summer, but the temps haven't been cooperative. Have a good one.

Raining here in north central TX today too. Started last night and I reckon it hasn't let up any. Just started as a nice slow shower type soak in rain but I think its picked up some now. WE were getting pretty dry here so I'm not complaining at all. I look forward to getting back in the hay field though. Luckily I got all I had cut down rolled up on Sat afternoon.
It was so dry that we were cutting last Wed. I believe and it came a what seemed like a 1" rain in the field we were in and next day it was dry as a powder house. Started rolling next day after that and didn't even have to turn it. Hope everyone has a nice day.
Gary

Wow, send some of that surplus rain to us in northeast Iowa. We've had no measurable rain sinse July 21. With the burned up corn and beans, in the mornings the air smells like it usually does after the first killing frost in the fall.

Hey Leon,

Where do you live? We have some friends in Decorah. I hadn't heard about dry conditions up there. My sister lives in NW Iowa and they have had plenty of rain.

I'm in the Waterloo area, about 80 miles soutwest of Decorah. I have a bro-in-law east of Decorah about 20 miles and they are some dry there but not as bad as here. It seems every rain that comes along slides by either to the north or south of us. I've lived here nearly 30 years and don't remember it ever being so dry. I grew up in central Nebraska so I do know what really dry is.
