I hate asking for values, but I want to get a somewhat "grey" idea....I found a 4620 with a broken crank. It ran about 8 years ago, but the guy pulled the oil pan, looked at it and walked away. Everythng is intact up in there, but I can see the crack through the throw of it. The tractor has 5300 hours, has adjustable front axle, full 3pt, cab, so the inside is in great shape, the rubber is in good shape. The tin is perfect, showing no rust anywhere and having most original paint. Everything worked...No water in it and has good antifreeze in it, but I am sure it tis stuck. They want like $4000 to $4500 for it, I want it for a lot less. I'd pay 2500 for it because it really is in good physical condition...but I want some opinions...I was almost thinking about turning it into a hot stock tractor.....please someone post SOMEHTING.....AC

Sold one at auction about 18 months ago; syncro; no cab; 20.8 x 38 singles; rear tires only about 25%; everything else in great shape; $4850.00.....

I agree with your value assement, price of engine kit with crank and labor should be detracted from base value as a given. They won't give that, they can keep looking at.

Here in Michigan I got a nice straight 4620 w/a year-a-round cab, 18.4x38 90% rubber, 80 %11.00x16 fronts for $5,500 at a John Deere dealer auction a few years ago. It dynoed out 2 weeks ago at 133 horses. It's been a fantastic tractor.

Wow, $5500? maybe my $2500 assessment is too high...Well, unless they get really cheap, I am out of money anyway, because I just bought an IH 806 diesel WFE for $1000 that is in good shape....I'll still keep tabs on the JD...thanks...AC

Here in Michigan they seem to be dead hogs. Still some advertised at 10-12 but the good cheap ones are out there. They like the fuel but are good cheap ponies.
