Hey Folks:

I'm wanting to make a rather quick sale on my 1967 4020, but I don't know what it's worth. It's a 1967 JD 4020 diesel, wide front, roll bar-canopy, dual hydraulics, differential lock, syncro range. It has good tires, new paint and decals, new fuel transfer pump, new drawbar, and new injection pump. It also has the original 3 point hitch components. Tractor is in very good condition, I have new lights, they just need re-wired. Let me know what it's worth, If you have any reasonable offers, e-mail me.

Thanks,

John

It varies quite a bit and depend on your area. Around here nice ones can go from 6500 to 12500. It's up in the air!

I just bought one pretty much as you described, except with Powershift, and 4500 hrs. Paid $8,500. The ROPS/canopy would have been $1,000 extra. I'm in Maine.

Sounds like a really nice tractor. Where are you located? It should be worth $8 to $10K if you can find a buyer who realizes that these old tractors are a lot better than the new ones. I just bought a 5410 John Deere for use on the miltary base where I work, and I would not trade it for either of the old 3020s I have on my farm. I just don't like it as well. Here in Eastern VA it seems like there is not that much market for older 75-130 HP row crop tractors. They don't usually bring that much at auction anymore. I saw a really nice 4430 with cab, and axle duals with 2500 hours fo for $8500 at auction a year or so ago. All of the farmers want the big tractors with 150+hp, cabs, and MFWD. Most of the hobby farmers want the smaller utility tractors. A local deere dealer had a nice 1966 4020 powershift on his lot that sat for 6 months before he finally sold it.
