Wayne i know "you d man" on 420's 430's ect.
paw in law just picked up a 420 today got it home and found oil leakin down on the front wheels {420t} haven't got it to it yet but got any guesses where it might be coming from i've busted up things on my M and MT and have never seen oil coming from anywhere up there.. Paw in law said the leak was not there when he put it on the trailer and that he had her cinched down really tight and thinks that may have something to do with it

I have run into the same problem with my 40t. As chris stated there is a seal and brass bushing. There is supposed to be oil in there. I replaced the bushing and seal on my 40. But it still leaks some. I think some people just put grease in to keep it from leaking.

Andrew

Switch to JD Corn Head grease on those old gear boxes with vertical shafts. Usually will be the end of the problem. I use it even with new seals installed.

Andrew it is possible that he caused the steering seal to leak, but if it is dripping on the tires, I doubt it. Those are common for the hydraulic lines to leak and drip on the tires. Of course there is the oil pan, govenor housing, crankshaft seal and hydraulic pump, that any one of these could wind up on the tires. But the most common is the hydraulic line fittings. The best way to find the leak is to remove the sheet metal, give her a good pressure wash, then run it and try to trace it down. I know this is vague info. but maybe it is of some help.

I'm not Wayne but I'm going to take a stab at it. It may be coming out of the lower steering seal. My M has the same problem. Just my two cents.
