I have a 50 MT. great shape, strong motor, good hyd, and 3 point adapter hitch. Can it handle a 5 foot john deere lx5 bush hog type cutter. It handles my 5 foot woods finish mower with relative ease. I tried a few months ago with a neighbors 5 foot cutter on my M and it wasn's quite enough. but my MT has always felt a bit stronger. Any ideas thanks

If you have the single front wheel or narrow front you may have trouble keeping it on the ground when you raise the hog. Otherwise should be ok

I have a 1950 MT as well and I pull a 5 foot bush hog. The tractor will cut great in first gear but it will work hard in second. I cut our field with it and the grass is some times 2 feet tall and very wet and it has no problem in first gear.

i have a 40T and have tried it with my 5 foot bush hog if you cut the grass often and kind of low you can run in third gear but if you let it get to tall say knee high you have to run in second gear which is real slow to me and its a workout for the little tractor....so i use my 620 in fourth gear and get done real fast!!!
