The most effective way for me has been regular sandblast - just don't stay on the bead too long. Follow this up with "tire black" treatment readily available from Miller Tire. This procedure makes them look like new!

I like to brush on my lye gravy mixture. Cheaper than oven cleaner and easier to control with a brush.

Do a small area at a time amnd you can wipe it off before powerwashing.

Another option is to use flat black paint and paint the side of the tires. I learned this trick from a car dealership. That is what they did with used car tires. Workes great, makes a old set of tires look great without making them look greasy and collecting dust like tire shine products do and in your case will cover the yellow overspray.

I went through that on a 50 A earlier this year. Very old yellow JD paint on the sidewalls. What worked the best was spray on oven cleaner and a fiber brush attached to an electric drill. Make sure you are fully covered from head to toe, especially your eyes. The oven cleaner is very caustic and will burn your body tissue badly. Be extra careful. After a few applications and scrubbing the tires came out beautiful. The process requires some patience.

I use a spray on paint and decal remover from John Deere. Just spray it on let set a few minutes then wipe off. Works great. BUT remember this is PAINT remover always cover wanted painted surfaces very good. Brian Nielsen
