wayne might you be able to explain how the wheels adjust on these tractors. I have never seen one and all the books i have don't show good pics of how the mechanism works. Have a chance to buy a 420 with them but havent seen the tractor yet I'm out on the road till Aug. Are they worth any more than others or any more useful. Thanks for the info.

i'm guessing by "spin outs" you mean the power adjust wheels? i have those wheels on my 40U, and they are the coolest things. like you, i had never seen (or heard, or knew) about such things until i went to look at my tractor when it was for sale, and saw them on it. i just figured they were some normal tractor wheel. well once i took them apart and cleaned and painted them, NOW i see what is so special. i guess if they were a rusted mess cemented in place with 50 years of mud they wouldn't be so nice. but with mine refinished and a little grease on them, they spin out like they are on roller bearings. you can almost get them to slide just pushing with your hand with the weight of the tractor on them. i doubt i will actually adjust mine much, but i don't plan on burying it in 2 feet of mud either.

i think new reproductions of these wheels (the rim section) go for something like $250 apiece.

Andrew, there is a locking clamp with a bolt through it, called a (stop) that goes through the various holes in the rail. You remove the locking clamp, loosen the 4 clamp bolts, then put the tractor in forward or reverse and spin the wheel in or out. When it is at the desired location, then reinstall the locking clamp, and evenly tighten the 4 clamp bolts. As to value, some people think they increase the value compared to the regular dish wheel. My preference is the regular wheel, I think they look better, but the spin-out was an option and is desired by some collectors.
