Hi, I'm hoping some kind soul will post a blow up of my hydraulic pump so I can see how best to proceed with repairing a bad leak out of the 'cover' gasket. It's always 'wet' but only leaks real good if the cylinder bottoms out at either end - then it oozes out real good at what appears to be where the gasket for the pump cover should be, the throttle will open a little at this time but it is not an excessive load for it. Question - is this likely to be a problem where the high pressure relief valve is stuck shut and the excessive pressure blew the gasket out in the first place? If so, I'll need the location and pictures for that high pressure relief valve and how it goes together too. My IT manual is worthless for this as this particular hydraulic unit is not covered, my JD dealer is equally worthless as they can't find a picture of it either. I have a rockshaft with a lever on the right of the seat and no pedals. I also have a skinny hexagon shaft with a one inch knob at the top on the left side of the seat that controls the hydraulics going to the quick disconnect fittings on the left side about the height of the top of the axle. Serial number is 524876 if that helps in figuring out what type of system I have, what it should be, and/or what somebody else might have hung on it. This is a 'thru' PTO type of pump, main problem is spotting the rockshaft casting types in a parts book - none of them look like what I've got on there, they are all missing that left hexagonal control lever and the ports for the oil outlets all on the left side. This thing fills from inside the battery box style seat as a further hint.

I'm particularly afraid that once I open it up I won't be able to continue farming with it due to lack of proper parts to fix the leak/relief valve, and/or dumping the whole load of 90 weight on the ground which I'd rather not buy just now. No picture(s) means I'll just have to fill it back up again and run it with the leak rather than chance the extra expense of 90 weight and down time as above. Since it's sucking air right now, I figure this is the time to fix the leak, thanks guys.

What you have is a Baker hydraulic valve.

Thank goodness for the neighbor's power washer, 20 years of gunk and some of this lousy paint job gone I can see that there is a 2" aluminum spacer block between the powerlift case and powerlift control valve castings. It is in this aluminum block where all my auxillary hydraulics are located, hexagonal lever and quick couplers all. Is this a 2nd party add on or JD all the way? Seems to be a sintered bronze 'breather' pointing down at my hydraulic pump which is now suspect as the main source of oil instead of the pump itself. Any input appreciated.
