I got a 51' A that when you travel down hills it will start to blow blue smoke and them go white and then it works its way out of it and runs fine. I've checked the oil and coolant levels and they seem to be in check. It only does this when you cut the throttle to minimize free-wheeling down the hill. The tractor has a 60 block in it with the dual throated carb, could the problem be that the two cylinders are not set the same and one cylinder "loads up." It is very frustration..hoping its not a cracked block, I doubt that it is sense it only does this once in a while. Thanks guys.

If it were loading up at those high vacuum conditions it should be blowing black smoke. Blue might be from worn valve stem/guide clearance but in my opinion those valves are so long that they would just about have to be plumb wore out to suck much oil there. Maybe its just sucking the running oil out of the 'normal' clearance there which is why it clears up so that you can see the white smoke? I'd suggest maybe a minor leaking head gasket that only leaks under high vacuum, maybe an overdose of Bar's Leak will get rid of the white smoke, I'd be happy at that point if it were mine.

I will have to try Bar's. It will start slow, like one puff of blue, then another then it blows white smoke like theres no tomorrow. It dosen't seem to hurt the performance of the machine. Thanks for the help.
