My brother has a 1944 B. A little overbore, very mild cam and he shaved some off the head and block(about 90 thou each?). Should he time this different than a totally stock eng??? Pulled it for the 1st time and thaught it should have a little more get up n go. Whats the secret to really make em hang in there at the end. EVERYTHING in the motor is fresh, no detail left out, just looking for some tuning ideas. Thanks!!! Id post a pic but dont know how.

General consensus is too much advance hurts lugging power. Since they're turning over so slow to start with they don't need the +35 degrees of a racing engine. Somewhere between 20 and 25 seems to be the most reported setting for the best dyno and pulling power. I wouldn't think your brothers "B" is radical enough to need any change in spark timing.
