Another question for a new Deere owner!

I am in the process of finishing a restoration on a JD A (45). They changed it over to electric start and in the process put a seat from a 60 model for the battery to sit in. Well my question stems from the the pedals that are supposed to be underneath for the lift. There is a little lever that needs to be hooked up on the side of the pedals. My tractor doesn't have a place to hook it up. I went and looked at a couple of other A's tonight and they have a little L shaped thing for the lever to fit in. Should my tractor even have the pedals? And if it should where do I hook that lever? It looks like there is a bolt head where that is supposed to hook on mine. Any info would be appreciated, I sent for a manual but have not recieved it yet! I also have to change the flywheel seal. Is it a pain? Thanks, Guys

Mike, that depends of if your tractor has Power-Lift [that would use the pedals]. Or, if it has Power-Trol that would use a lever [the lever could be on either side].
~If your rear valve housing has the 2 remote outlets it would be the Power-Trol & wouldn't use the pedals. If it doesn't have the remote outlets it is the Power-Lift & needs the pedals hooked up.

Clooney, If your sitting on the seat there is a lever about 2 feet long that would be on the left side of you. I guess by remotes are u talking about hyd. hookups for implements? Then yes I have two of them on the rear. Maybe I don't need the pedals then! This is new to me. I seen the two holes under the seat where the pedals usually hookup and figured it needed them. I guess I am new to John Deere's! My A doesn't have a Power Trol front end though. Should it? I have only seen them on newer tractors like the 60 or 70's models. Thanks for the help!

Mike, if you have the Power-Trol with the 2' lever & 2 remote plugs you don't use the pedals.
~Your front end is ROLL-O-MATIC not a Power-Trol
