2130 parts availability
where does one start looking for parts such as BRAKE parts as indicated by our friend "Brokenwrench" in an ealier message. He hit my problem right on the mark, but looking at JDParts and contacting local dealers, they have the "Deer in the headlamp" look...

thanks in advance...
scott

Your 2130 was trucked down from Canada. The US dollar vs the Canadain peso could purchase eqipment for 2/3 the price. On the truck and for sale in the US for a bargain. The 2120,2130 etc are a dime a dozen around the world except in the US. Call 1-800-522-7448 for the parts service and operator's manuals. As previously mentioned the Mannheim and Dubuque built tractors are virtually identical except for the number on the hood and sheet metal in the 30 to 40 series transition. I don't know why so many parts counter staff never heard of agriculture/tractors/parts being used and sold outside of the US.

I would tear both sides apart and see what you need.I`m not 100% sure, but I think the brake parts are the same as an early 2240. Some of the parts can be had aftermarket(pads, rivets,or lined pads)some possibly from a salvage yard(hard parts). The cleanup filters are only available from Deere as far as I know. Hope this helps

many of the 2130 parts are similar to other utility john deere models. such are the brake parts which are intalled in almost all 3 and 4 cylinder utility tractors.

I appreciate your response and AGREE whole heartedly, now if we could just get our local JD dealer to accept that! Seems the 4th weekend is causing some problems for my plight, but I had hoped for a "800-WEGOTITALL" phone number or contact, alas -- if only there were a SantaClaus... I also checked into JDParts online and opened an account, the problem is, the numbers are so superceded and scewed, I have no idea what is going on, but I can have them shipped to my local dealer, just cannot figure out the ordering system, and with a dial-up line, the images and process takes hours just browsing...

thank you,

scott

Get part numbers for each part you need, whether you have to look at parts on computer at local dealer, or online, or get a parts book from Deere.

Give the parts numbers to your Deere partsman, and when he punches them in, the Deere parts system will do the subbing to the newer numbers, if the numbers you come up with have been superceded.

If your nearest dealer is not helpful, check around. It is worth a long drive to find a dealer whp will work with you on something like this.
