What's all involved in fixing a 4010 so that the 3 point draft links don't leak down immediately after I shut off the engine?

Thanks,

I would replace the Oring on the piston first. This is done by removing the heavy cast iron cover on the back of the rockshaft housing, and removing the piston. The piston is not hooked to the connecting rod, and just slides out. The older 4010s, up to serial no. 38199 did not have a thermal relief valve, unless it was updated. The later 4010s have the thermal relief valve located in the top of the rockshaft control valve rear cover. It takes a one half inch wrench to remove it, and is done from the outside. It is rare for the control valves to give trouble, but can happen.

FIRST , THE 3-POINT IS NOT DESIGNED TO STAY UP. HAVING SAID THAT WHY WILL ONE HOLD UP THE PLOW ALL WINTER AND THE ONE BESIDE IT BEATS YOU TO THE GROUND. FIRST REPLACE THE ROCKSHAFT PISTON O-RING, CHECK FOR SCOREING ETC. THEN,( YOU WILL HAVE TO REMOVE THE VALVE FOR THIS), CHECK THE THERMO RELIEF VALVE SETTING , THEN CHECK VALVE SEATS AND ADJUSTMENT'S. THATS ABOUT IT DON

Usually just a thermo relief valve problem. Have seen it on 4020's all the way up to 4440's
