Hey Guys, This is the first JD I've had with a hand clutch. The fella I got it from said everything worked fine but it had been sitting for 2 years or so.It's a 1949 John Deere B with hydraulics and electric start. The hand clutch lever on your right is stuck in one place. It is pulled all the way back towards the driver. You can't push it forward so you have to start the tractor in gear and when you get going you have to kill it or take it out of gear to stop.I have pushed pretty hard(really hard!) on the lever but it won't go forward. Any ideas what's wrong or what I could do to fix it? Thanks, BEN

Ben, you push the hand lever forward to engage the clutch & pull to the rear to disengage it.
~Your clutch problem sounds like either a frozen [rusted] clutch fork shaft, maybe rusted pivot pins in the hand lever linkage, or the clutch disks are rusted to the clutch driver & pulley face [inside the pulley].
~You should pull the pulley cover & maybe disassemble the clutch to see if it's rusted solid inside. At that time you can work the hand lever & work some oil into the pivot pins & fork shaft bearing [that's the "L" shaped lever sticking up out of the front of the clutch area].
