I have a 4010 propane that has recently developed a problem that has me stumped. The tractor will fire right up, but once it gets warm it begins to back fire and spit and sputter and then dies. It will not crank again until it has cooled off. Does anybody have any ideas what could be causing this? Any help would sure be aprreciated. Thanks,

Yall don't forget the condenser as well. Heck sounds like the ole girl might be ready for a full ignition tune up anyhow. I know I was having problems last year with my 135 Massey like that. Points and cond. fixed her right up

It sounds like it is freezing up.
Are you running anti-freeze or straight water?
Make sure coolant is going to the converter and check the converter for iceing.

Do you mean the thermostat in the motor for the cooling, I have been thinking this tractor is getting warm too fast, is that the thermostat you are talking about. Thanks

I would check to make sure you are running a thermostat and that it is a good one. A propane engine will not run without a thermostat as the regulator has to convert the liquid to vapor.
