I have a 1951 G and I want to build a puller for farm class. I have a block bored .090 OS, and plan on alum gas pistons. Would like some advice as what modifications to make to get 70-75 HP out of the tractor. I have been told that a cam, roller rockers, and decking the block and head by 1/8" on all surfaces will up the HP considerably. Any other advice????? ?

I have a 51 JD-G that I pull, .090 over High Compression Aluminum Pistons, manifold has been ported out also, and a Flat Head which makes 68 HP on the dyno. If your going to buy pistons to make more horsepower, you might as well get .125 over pistons. Even a powerblock if you can find one. Porting the head and manifold and a 3 angle valve job will give you 1-2 horsepower also.

I have a 46 GM that puts out about 80hp and have been disqualified many times for trying to pull in the farm stock class with it. The guys that run pulls can usually tell when a G has been played with. Good luck.
