I checked the PTO lube level and found gear grease from the transmission. I drained and got about 2.5 gal. when there should only be 1 gal. I will fill with 10 wt. oil, but how long can I run this way before damaging the clutch disks? I need to use the 620 a couple months before sending it to the tractor doc. Thanks.

I have the same situation in a 530. I too don't want to go in at this time. you can see the responces below under "530 power shaft". but in general, the gear grease will probably not hurt in the short run and could cause deterioration in the laminations of the clutch facings in the long run. I have thought about over filling with 10w to hold out the 90w grease. Mr. Clooney thought that might be ok, but figured the pump would draw some grease in any way. he attached a picture of the seal you will need to replace. (4 dollar seal, 40hr labor charge)... that's not including skinned knuckles and finger pinches
