I have a 1950 M and i'm having clutch problems. I've had the tractor for about 1&1/2 use it with a woods finish mower once a week and with a box blade to level the drive way. The problem is when in press the clutch in the motion of the tractor slows to a stop but to change gears i have to idle all the way down to put in gear with out grinding... Maybe the throw out bearing if so where might i find one also the clutch plate. change both while i'm in there. thanks for the help

I had a similare problem on my MT several years ago, finally couldn't get it to stop and no adjustment left. Split the tractor and found the carrier for the throw out bearing was broken. It was a box type setup and the replacement I got was much stronger looking so wonder if it was not a problem. Interesting thing was that the carrier setup was in stock at the nearest distribution center but clutch plate came from farther away. Would have thought it would be more common.

Andrew, there is an adjustment on the clutch, it is on the left side of the center frame. It will be a square head bolt with a jam nut behind it. It is supposed to be adjusted to where there is 1 inch of free play on the pedal. If you are unable to adjust it to where it will release, you may have to go into it. As to getting parts, Deere still has them, or some of the tractor supply places can get them cheaper also.

Andrew, There are a number of vendors that frequent this sight as well as the antique magazines that carry the parts you ask about. However, could it just need adjusting? The bolt ahead of the clutch pedal on the belly tube is suppose to adjust the amount of freeplay in the pedal which corresponds to the pressure applied to the pressure plate and fingers. It sounds to me like a small adjustment to release the fingers a little more which would allow the clutch discs to stop spinning better.
