Our farm has been in the family for 170years. Hasent always been farmed by our family but it is now. We have taken it back over. Our farm was way out of town back then but now town is all around us. There is a big meadow that is in the middle of it with the mountains all around it. Two creeks in the middle of the bottem. My wife and I rode down there to give the cattle some grain. It is great down there. Not a sound but the tractor and the cattle. No site of town. Untouched grazing land. It is my favorite place to be on my tractor. Peace and a slower pace. My favorite thing to do is one of two things. One is square baling, I love to hear the tractors rythmic tone with the square balers plunger. Dont much care to pick them up though. Second is to round bale, Why??? See number one. HA HA HA Hope to hear some comments.

I like to plow and the smell of fresh plowed ground in the spring is wonderful. To take a break and relax for lunch in the shade of the old oak tree after plowing or cutting hay all morning, man, there's nothing like it. I love the smell of diesel early on a cool morning. These things such a nice diversion from the fast paced lives we have today and makes me reminisce about the family and how it was for them, farming to make a living.

I fire up the G and ride about a mile down the road to my dads farm.We have a lane that joins both parts of his property that is fairly long and winds through his woods.I put it in first, throttle it back and listen to it thump in the woods, puts goose bumps on me.The deer ain't skeered of the Deere so I count them and look for my next target come November. To me,it don't get much better.Jack(TN).

I like to plow, which is probably my faviorate tractor activity, although square baling is also a joy. Especially when there are two crews of teenagers fallowing me doing the pick-up.

Brad,
Ditto on all that with the minor exception that I prefer raking to baling and the baler makes a lot of noise and the smell from the raked hay is better than the stuff they sell in Paris for 50 bucks an ounce.

I have a creek on my farm. Best place in the world to get away from it all. Gods country right on my own farm!

Hey Brad. Where you from in VA? Our farm is in Broadway, but I go to school at Virginia Tech. Right now my favorite place to be on my tractor would be back in the shop actually getting some work done on it so I can go out and do some combining with my Allis Chalmers All Crop 90's. I guess some of my favorite times though are riding with my dad when I was a kid in our International 5488 while hearing the John Deere 3970 chopper whine behind us when chopping corn silage.
