I have the 'Parts Manual' # PC-658 and the 'Service Manual' # SM-2000. What I need is a complete "shop manual" that includes dis-assembly and assembly instructions. In addition to figuring out where the boxes and pail-fulls of parts all go, I need specs like main bearing wear limits, end play limits, conn-rod wear limits, wrist pin wear limits, etc.
A source for such a manual, new or used in good condition would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Jon

Hello Jon,
I bought an IT manual off Ebay by chance. It covers all the models A,B,D,G etc and has just about all the tolerances and torque settings needed for each one. I don't know whether it's the best manual you can get but seems to be pretty good. They seen to come up every so often so it's worth keeping an eye out for one. I could send you a copy of mine if you like.
I have a D, S/N 142134. Needs a lot of work but will sure be worth it.
Regards

G'day Andrew! My 'D'needs a lot of work as well. I'm a first time buyer - should have taken a knowledgeable friend along. The head and block are cracked from freezing, = big $$$$$ to fix it.
Mine is unstyled on round spoke rubber.

BTW - what is an IT manual, not familiar with the term. I would love to get a copy of the manual. I'd be happy to cover the cost of copying and mailing if it isn't prohibitive.

Please let me know and thanks,
Jon

Hello Jon,
I was going to make a copy for myself as a working copy to put in a folder so I'll make an extra if you like. It's an I&T Shop manual (Intertec Publications)of about 80 pages all up. It's written for mechanics with "brief but terse procedural data" (says this on inside cover) and is one of a series. There are exploded diagrams to show assembly. In the D model the manual is supposed to go from serial number 143800 and up but I don't think the D model changed that much mechanically (engine wise anyway), only cosmetically (becoming styled). I enquired at my local JD dealer and he reckoned he could only get me manuals from after this serial no. as well. Anyway, email me to let me know where to send it!

Regards Andrew
