I ordered new pins, dogs, and toggles for my JD70 to replace when I had the pulley off and was told today that Mother Deere can't get me three toggles. So where do I get toggles??? And how do I know if I need them? The only reason I was changing them was because the clutch engagement doesn't "snap" very good no matter how it's adjusted and I was going to have the pulley off.

thanks,
Scruffy

In the John Deere database, according to my local dealer, Mother Deere only has two toggles left. But I found another dealer that has them in stock and is holding them for me till the weekend. It will be a small road trip but well worth it.

Thanks for the help and suggestions! I'll get my 70 back in the field one way or another!!!

I tried to get the toggles last month from my dealer. I gave him the part number. It was not avaliable and would not come up with a substitute number. He did a nation search and coutld find none. F-I-T, when did you check. Maybe I need the name of your dealer. :) BTW, I've finally got my old 70 up and running thanks to advice from you an Clooney. Thanks a Lot!!! Moye

Moye:

Glad to hear you have it up and running !

I didn't check with my dealer. I went to the JDParts.com site, and they are said be available and have a selling price. Maybe that data base is out of date, but I've never had a part listed there that was then not available through my dealer. Those same toggles are used in the "G" through "730" series, so you would think there would be some demand.

I hope if someone does find out the status of those parts they tell us here !

Frank

SCruffy:

The toggles are C434R, and are listed as available on the JDParts.com site. Cost there is $14.17 ea.

I'd have him check again !
