1937 JD B block removal

I have began rebuilding process on my 1937 model b. I have removed the head and all other parts forward of there - radiator, fan shaft, ect. I have removed the formerly stuck pistons. However, I am having problems pulling the block off and am looking for suggestions on removing the block from the frame. I would appreciate any help as I begin this first retoration project.

Keith, you need to carefully look at the bolts that hold the frame to the block and the frame to the main case. I almost removed the bolts to the block and the bolts to the main case had already been removed (years ago). Makes you think. I like to put a pry bar between the side of the block and the rail to loosen the block from the main case. Works for me. Easy

Keith, Before you do anything be sure that the bolts located on the bottom of frame rails threaded into bottom of block are removed. Some of these old blocks have four and some have two. Also some of these blocks used studs with nuts verses bolts if you are lucky you will have bolts. If you have studs they will have to be removed before block can be removed or the tractor frame will have to be split away from case. Also check that the two 5/8" bolts are removed from the sides of frame rail to block usually one on each side towards the rear side edge of frame rail. once all bolts are out pry off top of frame rail to the closest head stud to lift block from frame.
