Hydraulic problem

Have a lift problem on a JD 2630. Lift works after cranking tractor but fails after a couple of minutes. Have changed filter. Pressure starts at 150 and drops to 40. Have found what appears to be aluminum particles in the hydraulic oil.
Anyone have any suggestions or knowledge to help me with this problem. Pump? Restriction? I don't know.

Thanks,
Billy

I dont know where you took your pressure readings from. But at the remotes, you should have pressure in the 2250# range. Did you clean the cross screen? If you have aluminum flakes, this could be caused by worn out brakes, a component failure in the trans,(broken or severely worn hi/lo piston, pto piston, broken lube tray that has been ground up by the gears)In any case the hydraulic system will have to be disassembled and cleaned because if the filter choked it will by-pass contaminated oil to all hydraulic functions.
