I was wondering if there are companies still out there that will analize oil? I am gaining oil level in my 2010 but am troubled with whats wrong. I see no signs of water in the oil, logic tells me it must be the diesel injector pump leaking. Years ago I worked for CAT and we had a onsite lab that analized oil and could tell you if there was water, diesel fuel or any other contaminates in the oil, they could also tell the ammount of cylinder leakage and the condition of bearings, just with two tablespoons of used oil. Does anyone know if there is still companies out there that does that? I would hate to pull off that pump and have it rebuilt if it could be somthing else. Thanks

A lot of aircraft service places still do oil samples. In addition all the railroads do oil sample on locomotives, depends on where you live and what is available.

Check with a local oil distributor, heavy equipment dealer,or Ag dealer to see who they use.John Deere has an oil sampling program. Most places require you to use one of their sampling bottles which you fill and mail/return to them, and the results are mailed to you. With the complexities of todays oils,I doubt if anyone does it in house anymore.
