you need to screw a pressure gauge on a hydraulic male coupler and plug into the scv. You will need a gauge that will go up past 2500psi...maybe a 5000 psi gauge. Start tractor pull scv lever and run engine at 2000 rpm. Your gauge should read 2000 psi or more.

IS this a power shift or guad range

anyone- I have the same problems with a 4320!! Planted all crops and the hydrolics worked fine and when done I put a loader on the tractor using both sets of scv"s. My bucket and lift cylinders will stop at half way places and when I slightly use both levers I can get the hydrolics to work. Full of oil, changed filter, steering, brakes, rockshaft all seem to work fine. Any Ideas?? Luckydog

what you describe seems like a coupler problem: when male snd female couplers are badly worn (in the retaining balls area) higher back flow in the male coupler may 'seat' the ball valve just like a check valve. check male tip and female balls retaining sleeve. (all this assuming you have jd couplers)

are there more then one scv's? do they all not work? do the rockshaft work? is the linkage connected? do the lever(s)move all the way?

There is a valve body on lower left side of tractor. There are a couple of plugs on valve facing the ground. one has pto cast in the housing, the other one i think is cast hyd. Remove the plug or cap on the one not marked pto. there is a spool valve and spring in there. i have had the valve to stick before. take it out and put it back, that may fix it.( there is some spring pressure on plug or cap be carefull not to let it jump out and get lost )
