Dear Clooney,

In your pervious replies you said that if the spark plug wires were mutiple strans it was solid carbon or something and if it was one solid wires in it, it was carbon core. I checked my wires and they are both mutible strans. I also chacked the Ohmswith my friends meter. The wire that goes to the right side have 0 ohms, the one on the left side have 2.15K ohms. I also found out that I have the wrong carb on the tractor. There's a DLTX 16 on it now and there is suppost a be a DLTX 36 on it. I don't have tons of money to spend on a new carb for it so I was woundering if you knew of any places that sell carbs that are not very expencive?

Thanks
Daniel

Daniel, your ign wires sound like they are in the ball park for solid core wires.
~On the carb...that DLTX 16 carb is from a 500 cubic inch D & faces the other direction at that.
~I don't know anybody that sells DLTX carbs cheap. You pretty well get what you pay for in carbs & unless you know the person selling a carb there is a good chance you will get something that needs expensive work or needs a lot of money put into it.
~You have a couple of choices, the first is to spend the money up front & get a cab from a reputable carb repair shop. The next choice is to buy a used carb & hope it isn't so rusted up inside that it can be made to work correctly. ~If you can actually see the carb before buying it & can pull the float bowl you will probably be money ahead.
~You might want to call some of the tractor scrap yards in your area to see if one of them has a carb for sale. ~You might even want to try a WANTED ad on some of the tractor boards for sale areas.....
