Thanks again fellows for all the good dope on my 530.the folowing is a result of your help

on my generater I found a bad terminal post

the replacement carberator I questioned went back ( this was a week or two ago)I sent my broken one out and had the stem repaired and I put it back on yesterday and I can't believe how well it is performing compaired to the " refurbished" carb I had on in the mean time.( So glad I wasn't loking at any new issues.)
new question

My carb nut is weeping slightly, I know that rtv type gasket makers are not good in that petrolium enviroment , is there a new product out there I can use on the stem area? I just had Bob's fix the stem and I don't want to risk over tightening I have new gaskets all the way around can you recommend something?

Bill, glad you found the problem & are up & running good.
~On the carb bowl nut...There are a few good products out there but most are a hardening type product & make later nut removal a painful experience. What I have found best is Loc-Tite PST pipe thread sealer with Teflon. That stuff seals excellent, stays somewhat soft, is impervious to fuels with alcohol or solvents & actually lubricates the threads. Just be careful you don't overdo it & get the sealer in the jet.
~You are correct in not using a silicone sealer on any gasoline containing area, or on any carburetor area exposed to fuel or the carb inside.....
