I checked the compression on my 47 A today and it is 60psi on the right side and 50psi on the left (sides are while sitting on the tractor). I am sure that this is to low so but just want to make sure.

Wes, it depends of if it has the low compression all-fuel pistons or higher compression gasoline pistons.
~The 10 PSI difference side to side probably means more than the actual compression pressure.
~To get an accurate compression test on your tractor it should be checked HOT with the carb & choke wide open.
~60 PSI for an all-fuel isn't too bad but is low if you have gasoline pistons. The 10 PSI variance side to side is telling you that you have a problem coming on with the low side.

Can I tell wich pistons I have by looking at them? I am going to take it apart to check the rings and head gasket so I will have the pistons out anyway. By the way the tractor is an all-fuel, but I guess that doesn't mean they are the original pistons. Also, could the lack of power be caused by the valves being burned? While the head is off I am going to have the valves and seats ground so i don't have to take it apart again later.
