Did John Deere make a G diesel? I saw one at a pull and was wondering if it could be authentic.
If not the guy did a great job.

Was this "diesel G" in an antique class too old for the 70 diesel?

Nope.. never produced a production G Diesel... It could have been a 70D or later.. modified to look like a G.... I know that someone built a B diesel.. (I think) a while back It was in the Green mag a few yrs back..

A guy in my home town has a B diesel. He made it many years ago. His tractor was not in any magazine that I know of.

Hey G Nut Guy, Like you, I always believed the R (no G's ever) to be Deere's first diesel, but a buddy of mine posed the same question and he was even gonna ask JR Hobbs at this years New York Expo about it. Take care (I always get you and the other G man mixed up, are you the one who used to e mail me those nice G Pics, or is that the other G person). John T
