I just had my wrist pin bushings honed to use 620 pistons in an unstyled A

do the early and the late pistons have the same compresion distance with the only diffrence being the wrist pin size if the late style piston was a little longer in should still work it would just have a little more compresion

Overbore pistons are available, but they will be aluminum instead of cast iron. You can buy them from this website. The difference in early A's vs. later A's is the diameter of the wrist pin, and in some cases (like for gas instead of all fuel) a higher compression ration (taller piston above the wrist pin). I am trying to find some high compression pistons for an unstyled A to run it on gasoline only, but I am not having any luck locating them.

Tom, why not use the later high comp. pistons in your unstyled tractor, they will work great if you get the wrist pin bushings to put in the unstyled rods from a 1940 and newer A. An inexpensive way to make the new style pistons work in the tractor you want to use them in.
