Hi, My family has been looking for a good, useable, working tractor for our operations. We've located a JD 4010 with an Allied loader run by an aftermarket PTO pump. It also has a round bale carrier. It has the Diesel engine with approximately 6000 hrs. The owner says that the engine was rebuilt about 15 yrs ago by a previous owner. I'm not sure what the rebuilt consisted of, but I was wondering when rebuilds should be done on the average diesel engine. The asking price is $7000 CAD. Anyone out there have good or bad points? Please let me know. Feel free to reply via email.

With the excellent hydraulics on this tractor and lots of capacity in the pump I wonder why the after market pto pump. It must have a separate reservoir then? Would be fine as long as you didn't want to use the pto

About the right price for the tractor with a half life engine in this area. Seems to me they are just throwing the loader in for free! Go for it.

I've had a 4010 diesel since I purchased it used in 1967. I'ts been a VERY reliable tractor, has almost 11000hrs now & with the M&W turbo kit I installed many years ago, it will still produce about 110 hp on the pto. I only use it for light work now, but for about 15yrs it was my "big horse". Don't know what the exchange rate is so can't comment on the price, but if it hasn't been abused I think you'd be happy with it. At the time it was built John Deere had by FAR the best hydraulics on the market.
