2040 Hyd pump

Does anyone know of an aftermarket source for a hyd. pump for a 2040? This is a Bosch two stage pump. The neighbor's is weak and the dealer says there is no repair kit, he must purchase a new one at a cost of $850! Sounds a little steep for a gear pump. Thanks for any help, WB.

A 2040 has a JD piston pump in it. It is a closed center,6 or 8 piston pump, depending how the tractor was spec,d. Parts are available thru Deere,or a number of aftermarket suppliers. Rebuilt pumps are also available from Deere, or other suppliers. If it does indeed have a 2 stage Bosch pump in it,I�m afraid it has been the victim of some creative engineering.

The 820, 830 and 2040 three cylinder tractors had open center hydraulic systems with gear pumps.
