Just saw a Starkist commercial with a 60, 50, or 70 tractor in the back ground looking through a window as a motherly type exhuels the tuna. Funny how those green and yellow tractors catch your eye, even in a quick instance. I can't help wonder why this tractor was included, as I'm sure as much as these companies pay to produce and air these commercial spots, that nothing would be an accident.

I've noticed quite a few JDs in commercials for the last year or so. Part of that is the "recognizability" that JD has now with every imaginable thing from serving platters to bath towells printed in "John Deere" with the recognizable yellow and green tractor. When you only have a few seconds to get a message across, you have to use perfect visuals and there is no mistaking a JD when you are trying to create a homey, safe, down-on-the-farm impression for your can of tuna, your miracle soap, or your brand of carrots.
