Couldn't get last year's new lawn mower to start. She was all upset, ready to call dealer to give them a blast etc. Got suspicious and tried a snort of either. Yep, started and ran with lots of smoke for about a second. She had filled the tank with low sulphur diesel instead of gasoline.

What I want to know is how long did it take her to "remember" that you were the one who filled it last? :-) My wife would have for sure come up with some logic to prove she didn't do it.

Why didn't you just close the shutters and work the heck out of it so it burn that diesel, lol? The one good thing is that at least you are smart enough to do some checking before calling the dealer. I have the feeling that some would have immediately gone to the computer and started ripping on JD and their junk mowers, don't you?

Just pulled the mower out of storage but waiting till after the May 24th weekend to take the snowblower off the tractor. Can't be too careful up here. There's two seasons, winter and six weeks of crummy sking. I was at work and she decided to cut the lawn. It had been running until she added fuel, ran a few minutes then sputtered to death. She had been yanking the starter rope and pushing the primer long enough to be angry/frantic.
