Chris,
I solved the higher than the Powr-Trol shaft, oil leak problem when I added a larger tank to my A. I cut some washers with a square center hole out of 3/4 thick steel. Just torch burned them, nothing precise. With the remote plugs in place so you don't accidentally move the rockshaft, I put a piece of foam between the plate and the axle housing. Liberally coated with Permatex, and sandwiched between the end of the axle and the shaft, it stopped the leak. I held it on with a small set screw thru the washers. To take added pressure off the rockshaft I parl it with thr loader up.

good luck, Paul

I was going to suggest the same thing F-I-T did - freon containers, or helium containers from a florist shop. If you're going to suppliment a Powr-Trol oil supply, be aware of a problem we had: Oil leaked right out the rocker arm bearings. Still haven't figured out how to fix that! Son wants to put loader back on, so we're going to have to come up with something!

We had the same problem with a one-way ram on the loader and I did figure out a scheme to eliminate the unsightly rear tank and go to a more attractive tank located low and alongside the box seat. If you plumb it just right, the lower tank will add oil when necessary and store oil when necessary without being high and causing problems. Before I could implement my tank idea, we traded for a nice Model 45 loader and it has two way rams, however, I still have the notes in my JD tractor file it you'd like to see them, just e-mail me.

Chris:

I made several out of old Freon containers. Easy to weld on fittings and fillers. Free from most any plumbing shop.
