Will a round tube wide front presently on a 60 fit on a 70 with rolla matic without having to find other parts? Also I stopped at a small salvage yard this week and he claimed you can't get parts for round tube fronts anymore. True?

Brian,

According to my Parts CD, the 60 used a #B2687R Pivot Bracket and the 70 DIESEL uses a #F862R. (My parts CD does not list 70 gas models for some reason?)
Aside from the differences in the pivot bracket it looks like the rest of the parts interchange without a problem.
As for parts availability from Deere it would not surprise me if many are no longer available. If you have specific parts and/or part numbers you're lookig for I'll be happy to look them up on my Deere Parts On-Line Account and give you availability and pricing. If what you're looking for is NOT available form Deere you should be able to find most anything from salvage yards in your area. I can also provide you with a list (by state) of all AG Salvage yards if you need it.
Let me know how I can help!

Al, are you sure you aren't looking at a round wide front pivot as opposed to the later square one? Either way, both wide fronts will interchange with both tractors. Mike

Mike,

I stand corrected! I looked again and you're right.
Thanks for letting me know : )

Thanks Al I was thinking of purchasing a 60 with wide front just for the wide front and then reselling it to offset some off the cost of the wide front. It doesn't make a whole lot of sense but my 70 is very good and I want a wide for cutting hay. I can get a brand new Schwartz for $900 or a JD round for $900 I guess I'm just going to advertise for a used Schwartz.
