Do you guys suppose that it's Walter Keller that has the current bid on the tractor? I just noticed that the bidder's name is wkelch, and the wkel kind of make me wonder if it were him or not.

The last time I talked to Walter, he had never used eBay. However I would be willing to bet that he has already made an offer on this tractor, these rare tractors seem to find Walter, not him finding them!! The estate is trying to find someone else that will pay more!

Howdy,

This "wkelch" wouldn't be wendell kelch would it? If so, he used to be the president of our antique machinery club here in s. ohio. He used to have some pretty rare IH tractors (wd-40, 8-16, etc.) and as I recall back in 1993 he had a JD R rice model too. It'd be nice if he won that bid. I'd love to see that thing at our show. God bless.

Well, the bid is going to have to go a LOT higher than it currently is. Frank Hansen told himself and anybody who would listen that it was worth 1+ million---not gonna happen!! There's a few people who might go 250K for it--maybe.

G-man,
Don't know who he is, but it's fun to make the pricing oddball. Might be an interesting machine to have, but as an investment; in 5 years I doubt it would perform as well as some stocks over the past 45 days. Then again, that situation can change rapidly - and there's always a bull market somewhere. Good luck to whoever wins the bidding.

Although I'd like to have the money to buy it, I certainly wouldn't buy it if I did. I'd rather have a few plain jane old Deeres than one that I'd be scared to start. It doesn't even look like it'd be all that much fun to drive. I'll keep my "G".

I don't think any bidder has to worry. I doubt the reserve will be met... and the bidders are only going in 100 buck increments now...hoping the estate lawyer will come back afterwards looking for best offers, I suppose. This one is a very expensive shed queen, and probably not much fun at all. Ditto on the plain ol' cheap old JD's. They seem to have gotten even cheaper this year - but still couldn't resist playing on the bidding for the shed queen. take care

That is not Keller. I know wkelch. He is a big IH man. I am not even sure that he owns a Deere.
