I need help rebuilding a float ride seat on a JD 430 W. Many parts must be missing because I have read posts to this message board about shock absorbers, tension springs, etc. My seat has none of them.

So I have no idea what it needs or is supposed to look like when all the parts are there.

If someone has a picture, parts manual page, or something they could send me it would be helpful.

Clooney, if you're reading this, I read a post some time ago where you sent a parts diagram I thinhk to someone. Wouyld you be willing the same again?

Anyway, I need to know what the seat is supposed to look like when finished in order to know what parts I need.

Thanks,

Roger

Roger the float ride seat on the 430 is completely different than the float ride on the Waterloo built tractors. There is no shock absorber on them. There is no diagrahm in the service manual I have. Parts at your Deere dealer should be able to make a copy for you.

Roger, Sorry I dont have any pics to post or e mail you, I think youre right that Clooney does have pics. However, are you sure you even have a float ride seat??? They slide rail fit on the top of the battery box (on the 20 series at least, not sure on the 30) like the regular cushion seat, but then they have their own large frame assembly with the 2 round rubber torsion springs on the rear and the shock absorber on the front. The "cheap seats" (on the 20's) just slide rail onto the battery box and the cushion sits on top of them. They have no rear rubber torsion springs or the front shock absorber.

Good Luck, Ol John T

PS: Those replacement rubber torsion springs (many of which are shot) alone are like around $100 a set, and the shock absorber probably needs replaced also.
