I hope I don't sound to stupid, but I am trying to hook up the mower deck (38") for a John Deere 112 SN# 102120M, and also a tiller attachment. I think I have the tiller figured out with the exception of the belts. But the mower, I have no idea. I bought it used, and I am wondering if parts are missing or what. I can find no place to bolt it on, and the pulleys mounted under the machine seem to be to low for the deck to fit under. The pulleys sit on top of the deck when I jack it up and set it down. I have gotten very little help from my local JD dealer, except that they want me to order a $70 manual. Can anyone help? Directions, Pictures, referances anything?

If I am understanding you correctly, the pulleys you refer to above the deck are a sort of countershaft used for the tiller ONLY. You remove them when using the mower, and if memory serves, possibly the mover attaches to the points where you have removed the tiller countershaft from.

The mower belt goes forward from the mower, around the 2 idler pulleys under the engine, and around the clutch pulley on the engine.

If you need more help, and no one else comes forward on the Forum, email me, and I'll see if I can find you some pictures.

I can't quite figure out why you don't want to buy a manual when you are planning to restore this tractor. I find that the dealers are very accomidating when you don't act like you are looking for something for nothing (advice) if you sound like you are too cheap to purchase a manual from your dealer then( rightfully so) the dealer is not going to do you any favors as he will figure you are going to go elsewhere for parts anyway .just my opinion

Scott:

If you try Deere Publications direct @ 800-522-7448, the manuals might be cheaper (that has been my experience).

Buy yourself a parts book, that will help you alot. Otherwise you will never figure it out and don't feel stupid for asking questions.
