SIR: REMOVE MEDDALLION UNDUE STERING BOX COVER AND REMOVE. REMOVE STERRING WHEEL AND TURN OUT, ALSO DISCONNECT THE LOVERS FROM LOVER CONTROL ARM, DISCONNECT GAS LINE FROM TANK AND POSSIBLE THROTTLE LINKGAGE, REMOVE BOTH SIDE GRILLS, DISCONNECT OIL AND TEMP LINES AND WIRING TO GENERATOR,NOTE GAS TANK COMES OUT ALONG WITH THE HOOD. GOOD LUCK, ALSO BUY A PARTS BOOK FOR THE TRACTOR AS IT IS A LIFESAVER FOR ME AT TIMES.

The medallion is the small piece of metal that has three bolts in it and connects the hood with the grilles. The steering cap is a round thing with two ears and two bolts to hold it on. Take out the two bolts, and just screw the long shaft out. It comes out the front. If your tractor is already restored watch the paint on hood while pulling it through the hole. If the steering wheel has been on for a while you will nearly have to get a puller, because it has a half moon key holding it on, and may have a little rust on it. Sometimes if they are rusted badly they require a little heat to help break it loose from the shaft.
