My 44 B has about .25inch play between the pulley and block and naturally the same on the flywheel side. Can this be eliminated? How?

MWM,
John T is right on the money with his specs and how to correct the situation. I had a similar problem with my 60 and the only way I noticed it was from the LOUD knock I was getting out of the CLUTCH side. Pushed the flywheel on a bit further, tightened her back up and noise was gone!
Good Luck!

Dear MW, If you mean you can move the flywheel in or out (back n forth) 0.250 inch, thats too much, you shouldnt have much more than 0.010. You adjust that run out or end play by loosening the 2 big flywheel bolts and moving (driving) the flywheel in closer to the bearign case side to within 0.010 (or basically about as close as you can get her) That lil tip on the inner side of the flywheel has to fit inside the notch in the oil slinger located inside that D shaped bearing & seal housing. We have one guy hold a sledge against the clutch disk big bolt while the guy on the flywheel side takes it in to her milk or on home as some call it till its within spec (0.005 to 0.010 I think).
