I have 2 H tractors the 1st one is a 1940 the second a 1941 It was my hopes to build one nice tractor from 2. The 1st one has rough cylinder walls and 1 .030 over piston the other std.??? The second tractor I pulled apart today really blew me away when I discovered everything inside the engine was covered in white assy. lube but one valve was stuck so I had to remove the head. The engine seemed "tight" to turn over. I pulled the head and it appears the previous owner had been into the engine. I decided to go further and remove the pistons for a look, New rings (reason for tightness)and one new cast piston? the other piston is rough but could be used and both bores are a well worn standard. My thinking is if I could come up with another 0.30 piston to bore that block and I should be set with both bores 0.30 what do you fellows think? And where could I get a NOS 0.30 piston?

Thanks
Denny

Try Sharps Tractor www.oldjd4u I'm not sure if they have NOS but I'm sure they can come up with some good used ones. They have a salvage yard, and specialize in the H. As a matter of fact I traded in my .030 over pistons for some aftermarket .090 over. That was last year, so they might not have them anymore.
Good luck with your project.
