What flow rate could I expect through the remotes on a 3020. We are considering mounting a "silage mill" on the bucket of our 148 loader and thought it would be easy to drive it with the remote. Thanks! Rick

The pump is rated at 22 gal. per minute. If you have an older 3020, turn the flow up under the hood on the SCV. If you have a 1969 up tractor, turn the rabbit all the way up in the back.

This applies to the 30 series and may, or may not be relevent information for the 20 series. I'm not familiar with it. I doubt if you'd get more flow from a 20 series than 30 series though.

Max flow rate from supply pump (located inside transmission) on 2030 is only 6 gallons per minute so that's the maximum sustained flow it can get from remotes with an oil return direct to the transmission casing or via the remote return. HOWEVER main pump can deliver 11 gallons per minute and if you take the supply from a remote and direct the return oil into the base of the hydraulic oil filter it is returned directly into the main pump cicuit and you can sustain 11 gallons per minute indefinetly. There is a filter base with a connection point that is intended for this. The tractor manual for teh 2030 points out that this is the way you should do it to run hydraulic motors. I know this because I dismantled our 2030 twice looking for a non-existent fault before I read the manual. (there were reasons why we suspected it might be faulty - i.e. 1/8 inch of metal worn off both brake expanders and distributed into tramsmission oil as filings - without damage to anything)

I have no idea if the 20 series has the same hydraulic arrangement or not but, if so, it is important to connect it right to get the maximum potential flow, for the reason above.
