This is probably a simple question but how much and i know it can vary on many other things but how much power is lost as compression drops through ring wear. My b has almost no compression to speak of but since its a 39 i have not got a tester i can use on the 7/8 thread. But i do no that it will not blow my finger off the spark plug hole. And with the crankcase cover off and a spark plug in you can here the blowby in the crankcase. I am going to rering because i dont use it much but i have been trying to pull my 2disk trailer type plow and it will just kill my little b and i know that it should be able to pull it. Thanks so much

What you 'hear' from the backside of your pistons is called Leakdown. All engines have it so this almost means nothing as does 'won't blow my finger out of the hole'. Get/build an adapter for your compression gauge and get back to us with a number we can actually work with. Then the guys could tell you whether or not she needs a ring job for sure. Does she smoke at idle? Color? How about when she's pulling hard? Color? Chances are if she is not burning much oil, she still has plenty of years left in her.

You may just have a bad carburator setting. When they are set wrong/not working you can't pull a fat girl off of a tricycle. An overhaul is not much of a solution.
